Answered my own question... On the German site the new bucket seats are the same price as the adaptive seats and the old seats are still there i.e. they're a new option

If these new seats are the same price as the old adaptives here in the states, then they will be quite the "bargin".

The 997 GT3 euro-buckets cost about $10,000 for both here. I'm sure these are in the same league.

I think the $1500 seats are the 996 GT3 seats, I've had my eye on them too! These are the ones with a "cobra hood"-like flare, right? The openings for the shoulder belts are round and should not be split by a bi-secting piece.

The 997 GT3 seats are different, more like what they put in the CGT.

These are the Club Sport Package seats that are available to our friends overseas. For us, we have to order the 1/2 cage and seats separately...

Here is a pict of the new 997 GT3 seats: (PLEASE NOTE, THESE ARE NOT THE NEW GT2 SPORT SEATS THAT THE THREAD IS TALKING ABOUT)

From what I understand, these new seats are crazy $$$.

If I'm wrong and these cost of the new sports seats is < $2000, I'd have to seriously consider delaying my Cayman order!

Here is a link to the 996 GT3 seats. These could be found for $1500 each.

Are these the ones that were installed in your Boxster?

Why not just opt for an aftermarket seat though, esp. at that price? You can have more options on size, and less expensive, and possibly lighter depending on what seat you choose.

No other aftermarket seats retain the thorax airbag.
