Hello fellow Seattleites/Caymanites

There don't seem to be a lot of Cayman owners in this area, or maybe its due to the weather patterns staying overcast/drizzly too long this year. I've had my eyes out for these cars in the real world since '06, but since that time I've only seen a handful.

Is this just a lonely region? or do any of you get together for beers/track days? Also if there are any of you who take your cars to SIR (I think name has been changed to pacific raceway now), I'd appreciate it if you could provide some info on how to get involved both in track events and social gettogethers.

Hi Blitzkrieg,

There's not a lot of region 6 chatter on Cayman Club. I know there are other Caymanites out there, though I have personally seen less than 5 Caymans on the street. I believe they communicate mainly via the local PCA chapter, which seems to have a good community. Though I joined the PNW chapter, I haven't hooked up with them yet since my primary hobby isn't related and gets all of my free time.

That said, I visit CaymanClub 2-3 times per day during the week!

Seattle Area Activities

Go to PCA.ORG, look for regions and click on Region 6. Scroll down to Puget Sound, click, and there's all sorts of info on track events, tours, social stuff, etc. If you're not a member of PCA you're missing a great deal of good information - even tho this site is also great!

There are a few on the road around here but compared to the large number of boxsters it does seem light. Personally, I like the fact that we're rare

I'm planning to join the PCA and get involved with the track events so may be I'll see you there!

I'm inland, in Moscow. I've seen one other Cayman in the whole of the PNW ever*, that was weekend before last on route 195 (Pullman to Spokane), me northbound in mine, someone southbound in an arctic silver one (didn't have time to flash a hi alas). If you think they're rare in Seattle, try out here!

* (excepting the dealership in Liberty Lake)

Thanks for the info guys, I'm going to take some time and sign up with PCA this weekend, might be a way for me to meet some more locals , not to mention see what this thing can do on the track.

and daz I agree its not a bad thing that Caymans are rare out here, I just hope its not to difficult to find a community to interract with locally in addition to this site.

One more Seattleite checking in. I just joined PCA, planning on doing the DE in July.

I've only seen 4 or 5 since buying in February last year.

I too am glad that Caymans are rare up here. I've only seen ~5 on the road in the last 6 months. Maybe we'll see more now that the weather is getting nice.

I use my CS as a daily driver and don't intend to take it on the track. I'm a member of the PCA, so maybe I'll see you all at the next social gathering...

And yet another Western Washingtonian saying hello. Our local PCA section has a half day tour scheduled on June 14 around the environs leading to the entrance of Mt Rainier. That should be a good opportunity for us to get the Caymans together en masse.

Checking in with my first post. What an awesome car, it's going to take a while to get to know it better, but so rewarding in the process. I looked at a lot of roadsters but upon driving a Cayman, it was over. The only question then was finding the one I wanted...which didn't take long. :-)

Congratulations! Tell us more about the new car and post some pictures if you get a chance.

I go to Pacific Raceways monthly. Your best bet is ProFormance Racing School

Their web page is hard to navigate, but that is the only bad thing about them. Otherwise a world class organization.

Thanks for the info Tomasz , is that you in the #6?

Took me a bit but I was able to find the info I needed on the site. Sounds like first timers like myself need to take the "One Day High Performance Driving Clinic" before being able to participate in the regularily schedule lapping events. You may see me there in about a month, my odo is at 1100 and want to wait for it to hit 2000 before taking it to the track .

I'll send you a PM when I'm ready to start going, maybe make it there the same day as you

Probably the best way to get going at Pacific Raceways is to go with the local PCA chapter. They run 5-6 Driver Education days there every year and if you're a novice you get plenty of time in the car with an instructor. As its a club run event the pricing is a lot less than the proformance school. Check out the details at pnwr.org.

There's a DE day coming up this week (26th) which I'm going to but I think registration is probably closed at this point. Is anyone else on the board going this week?

I know where XXX is but, how would I know when the Caymans are showing up?
